Historical and Traditional Perspective
Spotlight on Dill Seed - also known as – Dill fruit

Dill comes from the Old Norse word ‘dilla’ meaning to lull or soothe.

Dill has been in continuous use since the Egyptian civilisation as a home remedy for digestive upsets.

Traditionally chewed throughout the Mediterranean and the Middle East to promote digestion and sweeten the breath. A herb of choice for young children or the sensitive stomachs of the aged because of its mild and gentle action. Renowned for its calming effect on flatulence, wind and infant colic.

A beautiful fragrant herb from the Umbelliferae family which also includes carrot and parsley.
