What this ointment supports

Our Comfrey Herbal Ointment is traditionally used to support

• muscle soreness and fatigue
• tendon and ligament discomfort
• joint strain and stiffness
• physical overexertion
• recovery after physical work or sport
• general musculoskeletal comfort

Comfrey is valued for supporting areas of the body that experience repeated strain or heavy use.

Why comfrey

Comfrey has been used for centuries in traditional herbal practices and is often referred to as knitbone due to its historical association with bones, joints, and connective tissue. Ancient Greek herbal traditions are said to have used comfrey in poultices and pastes to support skin and tissue comfort following physical activity.

This herb is especially popular among labourers, athletes, and active individuals seeking natural support for overworked muscles and joints.

Who it is suitable for

• adults
• active people
• athletes
• manual workers
• those experiencing muscle or joint strain

For external use only.

How to use

Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin and massage gently into the affected area.

Avoid use on broken skin.

A little note about our Comfrey Ointment/Cream:

Comfrey has a long tradition of topical use, and we believe in using this beautiful herb with care and respect. Our Comfrey Cream contains a whole plant extract and is intended for external use on targeted areas of unbroken skin. As comfrey naturally contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), we recommend using the cream for up to 4 to 6 weeks at a time, followed by a break of around 2 weeks before continuing if needed.

As a precaution, avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for children under 12, or if you have compromised liver function. If you are unsure whether comfrey is suitable for you, we recommend checking with your healthcare practitioner.
